Hajja Salesjana
17 5. Who is Don Bosco for you and what strikes you most about him? Don Bosco was a truly visionary educator. "Make education a joy, not a burden". I am also very struck by his total reliance on God and the Blessed Virgin, something which I am still working at even at my retirement age! But I suppose it’s never too late. 6. What message would you like to pass on to the readers of Ħajja Salesjana? “Love one another as I have loved you”, Jesus told us. May this gentle command of His, inspire us throughout our whole life here on Earth, striving to love as He has shown us to. Moreover, let us be patient when life tosses us around, persevering when the going gets tough and do good while expecting no thank you. All are virtues which we should all pray for so as to journey forward in life unencumbered. 4. Is there a phrase or a sentence from Don Bosco that inspires you in your life? Indeed, there are so many! At my parish church, I serve as a Eucharistic minister, this comes to mind: "We do not go to the Holy Communion because we are good; we go to become good". It also helps me to keep my feet on the ground. Another favorite of mine is; "Enjoy yourself as much as you like - if only you keep away from sin".
