Hajja Salesjana

A brief introduction to yourself, your family and your studies. We are Mary and Saviour and we have been married for 38 years. We have two children, Peter aged 31 and John aged 23. Both are still living at home and both have a girlfriend. Mary has been a housewife since the birth of Peter in 1993. Before she has worked as an instructor in trade schools with the education department teaching craft & tailoring. I have worked for 41 years with a m u l t i n a t i o n a l company in the retail sector based in Malta and have grown in further education and professionally within the company up to becoming an Operations Manager. I retired from the company in 2021 and immediately after I was given the opportunity to work at Savio College as Assistant Bursar. Mill-album tal-Familja Salesjana 1. 2. How did you come to know Don Bosco? Since I was young, attending the MUSEUM, I had always been fascinated by the stories about Don Bosco, but, being young I never got all the necessary detail to appreciate this great person. It was when John attended his first Bosco Summer School at the Sliema Oratory in 2011, that myself & Mary started to get more involved. Eventually John also started attending Savio College and through all this we acquired knowledge and devotion for Don Bosco, Mamma Margherita and for Mary Help of Christians. In which way are you part of the Salesian Family? When our son finished his school term at Savio, Fr. Sandro introduced us to the Da Costa Salesian Cooperators Group and we accepted the invite. We have been members attending regular formation meetings and retreats ever since. Our sessions focus on topical issues that we face during our daily life and Salesian spirituality. All this has helped us grow in our spiritual life and hopefully to become stronger to stand 3.
