retreats twice yearly. Through these sessions we feel that we continue to grow since the subjects discussed are topical and relating to the family in the times we live in. We feel that the Cooperators group was a Godsend for us as it has helped us immensely in our ongoing spiritual and Salesian formation. 17 5. Who is Don Bosco for you and what strikes you most about him? Don Bosco is a role model and he is inspirational in his untiring love for the young to the end of his life. His way of educating them using the preventive system is still so valid in today’s world. His complete faith in the Blessed Eucharist and in Mary Help of Christians worked miracles for him in all the difficulties he encountered throughout his whole life. This faith and perseverance is still the greatest inspiration for us. 4. Is there a phrase or a sentence from Don Bosco that inspires you in your life? We feel that Don Bosco’s words of advice that “By means of affection gain the heart of the youth” are inspirational. This has more meaning for us in the family especially as parents where we try to love as much as possible especially during the tougher times. This is also true outside the family and not just with the young, as everyone appreciates being loved. Also inspirational are Don Bosco’s words that “A joyful heart is the result of a grateful soul” and we try to be grateful and appreciate all the good things, big and small, that we receive. 6. What message would you like to pass on to the readers of Ħajja Salesjana? Our message is to continue to learn about Don Bosco and to be inspired by his life and his teachings. This is especially true as we try to love God and His Mother as he always did. And also to continue educating the young, our future society, inspired by Don Bosco’s love and his positive educational method.
