Hajja Salesjana
A brief introduction to yourself, your family and your studies. We are Tony and Louise Cassar and we have been married since 1976. We have three children, a daughter and two sons, and now also three precious grandsons. We are now both retired, our respective professions were: Tony was a qualified quantity surveyor in the construction industry and I have worked at a bank for some years and with a local stock broking company for the rest of my working life. Mill-album tal-Familja Salesjana 1. 2. How did you come to know Don Bosco? Tony, like many young Sliema boys, used to attend the Sliema Oratory from a very young age while I started attending at about 16 years of age when girls started to be allowed to join too. There we both learnt all about Don Bosco, Mamma Margherita, Domenico Savio and grew up to love the Salesian charisma with youths and families. Through this we have both also acquired a deep devotion for Mary Help of Christians and have joined pilgrimages to Valdocco in Turin twice, as well as a third time on our own to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. In which way are you part of the Salesian Family? We still attend regularly at the Sliema Oratory taking part in the various activities and volunteering when we can help out. We also form part of the choir animating the 8.30a.m Sunday Mass while joining up with the youth choir for Masses on special occasion. As members of the Da Costa Salesian Cooperators group we attend monthly meetings as well as 3.
