Mary Help of Christians on the 24th of each month. I am now an active member of the DaCosta Cooperators Group, I help out in preparing the Oratory Chapel for Sunday mass, and am currently at the end of my term as Committee President of the Sliema Oratory Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco. 17 5. Who is Don Bosco for you and what strikes you most about him? Don Bosco is a source of inspiration and guidefor a more meaningful Christian life where we can be more caring and understanding of the people we cross paths with everyday especially our own family. The spirituality of the Salesians of Don Bosco challenges us to live our beliefs in our very own reality. Don Bosco’s humility and untiring care for the younger generation are two aspects which always struck me. 4. Is there a phrase or a sentence from Don Bosco that inspires you in your life? As a parent of three boys, the phrase that inspired me greatly from Don Bosco is taken from his famous Letter from Rome that states: “Che i giovani non solo siano amati, ma che essi stessi conoscano di essere amati” which means that it is not enough that young people are loved, but that they themselves know that they are loved. 6. What message would you like to pass on to the readers of Ħajja Salesjana? My message is: Grab whatever opportunity that comes your way to become aware of Don Bosco’s message for you in today’s reality and let it impact your approach to handling life’s challenges.
