Hajja Salesjana October-December 2019

7 H AJJA S ALESJANA from all over Malta and Gozo, Salesians from abroad, including a Congolese representative, and many Maltese and Gozitan Salesian family members attended to witness this doubly special occasion. The chapel gleamed with the newly installed lights while all eyes were rivetted on this young man, bold enough to go against the grain and take a definitive stand for Christ, committing himself wholeheartedly and totally for Him and for the spreading of His Kingdom of Light, especially among the youth of the Maltese islands. The preacher of the homily encouraged Jean Paul to stand out in the midst of the social darkness that pervades our society and world devoid of Christian values, by being a bright beacon of Christ’s light and love. Jean Paul was encouraged to find time with the Lord of Light so that he can be emblazened with His zeal and in so doing, lead others, fumbling in the dark highways and byways of the world, to His Kingdom of Light. Following the beautiful ceremony, a reception was held in the Salesian Oratory grounds. Together we celebrated and thanked God for the gift of Br. Jean Paul and his definitive ‘Yes’ to Jesus Christ’s calling. We thank his parents and family too for instilling in him such noble and genuine values that led him to this milestone in his young life. May other young people emulate his example and follow Jesus, the Light of the World, who continues to call others to follow His path of Light in a world that has conveniently opted to dwell in darkened shadows.
