Hajja Salesjana October-December 2019
H AJJA S ALESJANA 6 On Saturday, 24th August 2019 in the evening, excitement and joy were slowly gathering momentum as the congregation of Salesian Family members gradually but surely trickled into the newly refurbished Salesian Oratory chapel in Sliema. After months of hard work and restoration, the chapel finally re opened its doors and revealed its fresh, new aspect making it once again, an oasis of calm, peace and tranquility where, away from the hustle and bustle of life, amidst a beautiful and soft setting, one could get in touch with God, the fulcrum of our existence, who gives light, sense and meaning to our constant meandering here below. To add more vibrancy to the Salesian Oratory chapel’s much anticipated relaunch, the first occasion to be celebrated there was the solemn mass during which Br. Jean Paul Mutombo Matala Yann, a young, zealous and generous missionary Salesian hailing all the way from the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa, was to pronouce his Final and Perpetual Vows of obedience, poverty and chastity within the Salesian Congregation.
