23 We must always ask: What does Jesus want from me? Who am I in His eyes? Who does He want me to be? We start by practicing love. We should see goodness in others. That begins the process. In the end, much of life reduces to how much we have loved, and that means not just those in our families, not just relatives and friends, but our neighbors and coworkers and everyone we happen upon through life, even antagonists and total strangers. One day we may learn that there was more goodness in others than we realized and that we should have loved more intently. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is wishing everyone the best. Love is putting others first. Love is healing through the spirit. Love is touching our fellow man at the deepest level of existence and it is allowing Jesus to enlarge and take over our hearts becoming their sole sovereign King. Hence, decide and pray for Jesus to enter. He will only come in if you invite him into your life. He won’t force himself. Pray to Him to soften your hearts. Pray to Him to give you the great love that only He can give, because love is the real ticket to Heaven. We should ask for examples of how we can better conduct ourselves and most importantly we should unite in love with Jesus for his love is unfathomable while ours is limited. It is His love within us that we need to share and give to all those whom we meet, here and now in whatever circumstance we find ourselves in and not in some perfect, idealistic situation. During the Eucharist we break any bonds that set upon us during each year of our lives, and we plead His blood over every minute of our lives to purify and relieve us of all evil. True sanctity consists in renouncing oneself, in constantly putting aside the ego, in allowing God to work in and with us as He wills, and to receive the graces He sends with profound humility. Had they to do it over again, souls in Purgatory would orient each day in seeking to be who God wanted them to be. They would meditate on who they are and who God wants them to be. They would detach themselves from all earthly things and make sure to put God far above any earthly creatures. All must be done for God. And for Him alone! One must reproduce in his or her soul the conduct of Jesus. We must detach from ourselves. We must realize that despite its ephemeral beauty, earth is our testing ground and we must pass through it without complaint, at one with God who is our lantern and compass on this tortuous journey. We must gradually but surely strive to rise above all earthly things, all self-love, any inordinate passion and lose ourselves totally in His will. Hence, the utter importance of a personal, one to one relationship with Jesus Christ, whom we should visit daily and receive often. Every day we should pray that God's designs be fulfilled in us and that we never place any obstacles in the way of His plan for us. We must be united with Jesus. We must totally replace our hearts with His. We must strive never to lose sight of Him, not even for a moment. We should pray that we desire what Jesus wills. We should let Him completely take over our hearts. We should do everything night and day for Him and Him alone. We should give up self- will for His Will and self-love for His love. We must enlarge our hearts so that Christ can find His love in it. We must love God with the pure fervent affection of a child. Challenging, tough, demanding? Yes this all undoubtedly is but with God, all things are possible. He is the God of the impossible as Our Blessed Mother teaches us. All that is necessary is that we give our YES to Him and then allow Him to do the rest and mould us according to His desires. He knows best. Let us trust Him, let us let go and let God do the rest. He has done this before in all the saints that have walked this Earth before us. Why can’t you and I give him the reigns of our life so that He can then make a masterpiece out of it?... The choice is in your hands. Love is the real ticket to Heaven adapted from After Life from www.spiritdaily.com
